Although born and raised near Knoxville, TN (yes, he is a huge Vols fan) Justin moved to Louisville in August 2002 to take a Staff Attorney position with the Louisville Metro Public Defender's Office.
His attitude, uncompromised work ethic, sense of justice and a strong desire to stand and fight for those accused of criminal offenses have earned him several awards for outstanding representation of his clients (see below). It also earned him selection as Vice-Chairman and then Chairman of the Louisville Bar Association (LBA) Criminal Law Section.
His representation and results allowed him to swiftly move up the ranks of the Louisville Metro Public Defender's Office from Staff Attorney to Deputy Division Chief for the Adult Trial Division. During his tenure there, Justin was either lead counsel or co-counsel for nearly two-dozen jury trials (in both District and Circuit courts).
Since opening his own practice in July of 2010, Justin has continued to do what he loves: tirelessly advocate for his clients. He has continued his love of the law by being lead counsel on several high-profile murder and death penalty cases.
He has even appeared on The First 48 television show.
